Lori Ann

So, since 2003, I have been on the quest for the best products for my hair. People always ask my hair type, but I never know what to tell them. I think that I am 4 a or 4 b. Whichever of the two is a corkscrew shape smaller than the diameter of a pencil. These are the products that I cannot do without (in no particular order)

Aussie Moist Conditioner- leaves my hair silky smooth and shiny. Especially when I use the tightly curly method. I actually discovered the conditioner before I visited the website and found that it was one of the recommended conditioners.  tightlycurly.com

Miss Jessie's Stretch Silkening Creme- so I don't really use this product quite as recommeneded, but I love it just the same. I apply this when my hair is dry and frizzy and I don't feel like washing it. I take thin sections of hair and saturate them with it, then smooth the hair and take the blow dryer to it on the warm and low setting. It gives great definition to my hair. Stretch Silkening Creme

Denman style brush- this bad boy gets the kinks out, literally. It is a rubber based brush without pins on the vinyl ends. When my hair is saturated with conditioner, I use this brush to detangle. I couldn't do without it if I had to. Now, you can buy a Denman at places like Sally's, but I bought a knock -off at the beauty supply down the street for $2.

Carol's Daughter Honey Hair Mimosa- this fantastic concotion of natural oils leaves my hair smelling sweet and shining like diamonds. I use it whenever I am straightening or two stranding my hair. A little goes a long way!! Honey Hair Mimosa

Kids Organics EVOO plus Shea Butter Detangling Moisturizing Hair Lotion by Africa's Best- this is a little bit of heaven for even less money. In between tightly curly washings when I just want a smaller curly fro, I use this on my wet hair once I've rinsed the conditioner out.  It leaves my hair soft, shiny and fro-tastic!! Find this anywhere from Wally-world to the beauty supply for $4 or less.

ECO Styler Olive Oil Styling Gel- this gel, is unlike any other gel I've used-EVER!! It left my hair shiny and soft and super manageable. I hated to wash the style out. I used it when my hair was saturated with conditioner and when it was just dampened with a little moisturizer. The results were still fantastic!!  You can catch it at Sally's for under $5 ( I caught the 32 oz for JUST $2.99!!) or check your local beauty supply.

Satin Cap- helps keep the curls shiny and from matting while I slumber. And I tend to slumber hard...You can find these anywhere as well.

By the way, if you don't know, now you know that Miss Jessie's is now at a target store near you (as of March 28, 2010) !! I'm a little apprehensive about it, but I wish them well. I just don't want the product to suffer with this extreme mass production. But I will try the Curly Meringue from Target. The plus is that if I don't like it, I can return it (hahahehe!!!) Check out missjessies.com to see if your local Target made the cut.
